Did just like a fisher set, beaver meat, 5x 5 body trap. angled tag alder. nothing special. Some worked some didnt.

I have mixed feelings about them. I really would not like to see someone setting a bunch of them because they are cheap and just leaving them, forgetting them and they would still be working next summer. That would not go over well.

I tried running pole set this year. same as for fisher but on a smaller scale. 120 on a tag alder near stream. The set has merits. That being said ; ever use pans on your 120 's ??

I have flagged mink sets, maybe a feather or something small light. I believe it helps some times. I dont do it all the time just when the spirit moves me.

A thought on bait and mink. Early , keep it as fresh as possible. Leave half a rat in a pocket and after a while it can get pretty rank. I usually scrub the hole with the stinky rat , toss it and put in something fresher. The stink will calm down and theere will be a little odor. Take a piece of stinky meat and freeze it, the odor will tame down to almost nothing.
