Set a 110 in a small channel I made yesterday.Forgot the hatchet to drive stakes since ground was froze where trap was so I used a piece of wire and pushed a stake out in the mud about 4 feet from shore and just propped up the conibear best I could with the ice.Came back today and seen a huge rat swimming around.-----No it was a beaver caught by 2 back toes in the 110 magnum.Since I had to stake the trap out in the water he was able to tangle up out there and not get a good pull on the trap since he could only swim and not touch ground.Around 25 lbs.He stretched to the 3rd ring on the board. Not super big but not a midget either.

Don't know if an old style victor would have held since there is a slight amount of slop when the jaws are closed. The Duke 110 magnum is nice and tight but also it was brand new.

He must have pushed the trap over and when he kicked off his toes hit the trigger.
