Would any one know of a good dvd on skinning skunks along with how to descent it, or is there a substance you can put on the skunk before you start to skin.

A bag of clothespins. One for you, the rest to be handed out to those with whom you come in contact. Just breathe through your mouth. You can't taste it. OK, maybe you can. There are a lot of "recipes" for deodorizing that a quick Google search will provide, most contain baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. There IS a product, I haven't tried (yet), called OUT! that is made for removing skunk spray odors from pets. I don't know if it's still made, I got it years ago when a family of skunks invaded the neighborhood and I wanted to be prepared in case our dog ever got into it with them. Never happened. Used to be a lot of money in skunk scent. Even today, the best and most expensive perfumes are made with descented skunk oil because the oil holds fragrances better and for a longer time than anything else known to man. And Nature sure has proved that! But as far as taking the glands, again - many youtube videos, and also FHA has something, I think, in their pelt handling tutorial. Good luck!
