is that the feeder creek section downstream of Smith's vineyard and above the railbed trestle on Parrish Cross? In other words, out back behind my house?

Well during lunch, the rain started. The runoff played havoc raising the water another6-8 inches. Water was pretty much unfishable. The lower stretches below vfw down past parish extension bridge have crested and are unfishable for a few days, probably longer. Good news is, plenty of water to bring in the fish. The next few days will be rough fishing. I'm seeing a lot of rain forecast.

Thanks guys. She fought for 25 minutes. I saw the water yesterday and changed my leader from the usual 10lb to a more practical 20lb when the water is ripping like this. Im glad I did. She made several"screamer" runs. The reel was the loudest ive heard it, almost like it was taunting the fish, screaming like a banshee when I would lose line to the 20 yd runs the trout made. The large arbor reel would gain the line back almost as fast as the trout took it, provided she stayed upstream of me. I've found over the years to keep the fish upstream, even if it means walking downstream to make that happen. The 5wt TFO handled her well for a rod 3-4 sizes too small for the fish it was temporarily bonded to. I had no lifting power, and could barely turn her head, but the rod flexed well and absorbed her thrashing beautifully. it was the equivalent of trapping beaver in a 150.
Yesterday temporarily fulfilled ym deep seeded craving for chrome. So much so, in fact, that I didn't go this morning. I'm actually going to do a tanning run today so I can free up some room in the pickle vat.

On a five weight no less...what model TFO? I've been fishing a 6wt built on a BVK blank.

It is a 7'9" 4pc full flex Lefty Kreh Signature Series. I own several Sage, Orvis, and Hardy rods. I fish with TFO. That says something about their rods. I reach past $800-$1000 rods, daily, to take that TFO out. Customer for life.

I grab a $125 TFO that outperforms rods that cost 8 times that. Its my all year rod. It just sounds fancy describing fly rods. I got a spin rod, couldn't tell ya the make, or the reel, I think its black...its been a few years since ive really used it, I didn't bullhead fish last spring.

Egg sacs. Sponge. Plastic beads.
I use salmon eggs till I catch a good size female then I cure the trout eggs and tie my own.

the next few day will be NO fishing... but when the water level drops, main run of fish will be in those holes past few days, umpteen 6lb to 12lb fish being taken from all upper stretches of Naples creek. Lots of pics on facebook... all catch & release by choice. big-fish action is hot right now... as forecasted it would be

We need to go where you guys do. We fished a couple small streams in Morgan Hill yesterday, and this is the best we could come up with. Seven little Brookies and a few 15-16 inch Browns. Still pretty fun on 4 lb. ultra lights in a stream you could almost jump across.
