That's a great catch and a pile of work Frenchie ! I remember calling you back in Dec. or so and you were chopping your mink traps out of six inches of solid ice ! It takes the population densities, some know how and a pile of work to accomplish large catches. If you don't hurt every night when you go to bed and every morning when you wake up, well ............you're either still pretty young or you're just not working hard enough at it yet LOL Frenchie if you've got a minute, come on down here and teach me how to do these pics now and it'll save me a few hours ! Your mink demos are some of the best I've ever seen. Sure did open my eyes to a few things. I applied those things and a few others and had the best mink catch I've ever had this past fall. Thank you !
I'll remember the old books for the NTA NE for sure ;D

congr. on 100. I only trap the first 3 wks. of season and catch between 70-80 foxes a year for past 20 years. I make between 12-15 dirtholes in same places every year. This year I caught 94 guess I should have trapped one more week

Sorry my brother John Magel isn't still around as I don't think they had the 100Club around when we were going strong . He's dead and I'm 85 with 2 bad knees The last tear I trapped I caught 406 Coon and usually home by10-11. John who always made me look bad,his best year I can remember ( rounded off but close )with 3500rats. 50 otter,( I have the picture. They cover the end of a 2 car garage ) 80 reds and greys, 250 coon, 45 mink, plus I don't know how many beaver and bobcat as he trapped those in Georgia for a big timber co.( forgot the name) and caught so many he was the only trapper that had keys to their property. I figured his catchup at high prices of several year ago ( his rats were all Oak Orchard jumbos ) at over 100,000$ I know where ever he's at he was turning that year As you can tell I'm reluctant to let him go as when I'm gone my son did't go our route and a step son of mine who showed promise died young. - carrw

Your brother could have been president of the 100 club....hell of a trapper, I trapped the Oak, TWMA and Iroquois back in the 70's and 80's, I knew of your brother. Yeah, 76-77 time frame rats going for $7.00 and reds for $60 or better, gas was $0.56/gallon. His fur check had to be nice. I can tell you miss him...but nice you hold on to the memories.
