What kind of bait works for trapping beaver under ice using conibears and is there a specific set that you guys use?

;D i like to use fresh cut and shaved maple or poplar branches for under the ice sets red brush works to... but poplar smells the best were maple holds the fresh color of chewed wood longer when the bark is removed so i use poplar or maple the most.. also white pvc on the triggers of the 330s works well

He's talking about a piece of PVC pipe on the trigger. Since they can't smell under water they are attracted to the white, reminds them of fresh food.

Do I just wire a piece of poplur or maple to the wires and submerge the whole set ?
