Charlie,
Why would we meet for 2 days? That is a long drive in the winter time & expensive.
Why not just meet one day for 12 hours?
Is their an adjenda avaliable?
Is their a special reason for the 2 day meet?
Thanks herm

I believe that the meeting has been changed to 2 days since there is so much information to be presented, both from the DEC and NYSTA. Since the unexpected passing of Dave Corse has left NYSTA in a little bind in as far as the convention planning goes, I'm sure that will be a big topic of discussion. There are also vacancy's in both the Region 6 & Region 5N Director's positions and although it seems as if the NYSTA by laws will again be disregarded in this matter, Director's need to be assigned/appointed. Maybe they will finally discuss the by laws changes I presented almost a year ago too! Finally, since the last BOD meeting was held just before the Convention, the span has been almost 5 months between meetings. I believe will a little planning, they could still have the meeting on one day however. They could send out by mail/email the agenda and any pertinent information ahead of time so when the meeting is started, all that would be needed on some matters would be a vote. So much time is lost discussing issues that have little or no relevence on the final outcome of the vote. For instance, coorespondence, send it out ahead of time so it doesn't take 2 hours to go through it, PLANNING folks!Anyway, since I'm not in any official capacity within NYSTA, I don't have room to challange there planning now do I?

This seems to me to be a step in the right direction in building the strength we will need as an organization. If our Attorney General becomes Governor in the next election we will need all the strenght we can muster. Four meetings a year didn't seem like enough time to cover the things that needed to be covered last year and we had some bad feelings over the outcome of some of the results. Let's hope that starting '06 this way will bring NYSTA to its rightful place atop the trapping community.

Sure does Scott, we just need to use the time more effeciently, espicially since the BOD meetings like you said are only 4 times a year. I hope that we can put some of the differences we have aside and move forward as well!
