Scott Smith and Marty Delong (both from Bath NY DEC office) and other volunteers spent last Friday banding geese. The numbers and location where Elmira (Chemung River) 89, Horseheads(Holding Point) 49 and Watkins Glen State Park 113 for a total of 252. Scott hopes to tag 600 resident NY geese. I gave a exalt to Spur for his time in the catch pen with the geese. Trap Hunt Fish 24/7 John

Right you are Eric. Just another example of a old fart not thinking about what he was writing. You can contact Scott Smith or Marty Delong at the Bath NY DEC office and I'm sure they will tell you when the next banding will take place.

It's ok. I hunt the swamp between Watkins and Montour Falls so I know all the spots where geese like to stay. They should hit up Soaring Eagles Golf Course for more birds to band. That is, if they aren't out there shooting them in the morning!

They banded a lot this week too. Last I checked, they banded 160 monday (where I forgot) but they are also banding in Canandaigua, Leroy, and some areas around the avon office (weather dependent). Last week, I helped band some birds up in Tonawanda, but we only caught 58.

It was hemlock lake that they banded like 100 birds on monday and then another little pond in that area. They also had like 20 recaptures.
