Best thing to do is to get a good video on fur handling. Matt Jones' After the Catch is an excellent one. It goes over all the fleshing and stretching of all furbearers. You'll need a fleshing knife, fleshing beam, and the necessary stretchers for the species you plan to trap.

I downloaded that manual, printed it out, and it is now in my furshed. Absolutely great information in there. Thank you for making it available.

I just started putting my own fur up only 3 years ago. I took some fur to an experienced trapper and watched him, the I did some myself under his guidence. He was really patient with me, and now we blow right through them. Every year it seems to get easier. I still haven't mastered the Beaver, it is just going to take practice..... I purchased all of my stretchers and equipment at the NE and PA Conventions. If you go to one of these shows, I highly recommend looking up Orlando Brown, he sells adjustable stretchers of his tailgate and they are great quality!!! I use a necker for everything but the mink and rats..
