when I was in 8 grade I had one small pond that I had permission to trap. There was a kid that lived up the road about a mile that had his grandmothers farm that he trapped. He would come to school and brag on how much fur he was getting and that me and some of the other guys should take some trapping lessons from him.So instead getting lessons we thought we give him one. We got a muskrat carcass and walked through the woods to the beaver pond he was trapping and found a muskrat den that he had a 110 in. So we pulled up the trap and stuck rat carcass in it then put it back. The next day on the school bus when I stopped laughing so I talk I told him what we did, he had a fit. His mother called the cops and said he caught the muskrat and that we skinned it and put the carcass back in the trap.Well my dad made me give him one of my muskrat but it was worth it ,to hear him tell me how he caught a hairless muskrat.

You got out of it lucky, that was an an illegal act and you could have been ticketed and fined. and even lost your trapping lisence. I hope no one else gets that same foolish idea. Ed

I'm sure it was amusing at the time but how would you feel if someone bothered with one of your sets?
