I'm new to trapping, at least in the last 30 years. Some of the new folks like myself, possible haven't seen the stuff on adjustable length drowners, especially for beaver. I built some and they are just the ticket. I also, at least for areas with a short walk, have been using old brake rotors for drowining weights. Bolt 2 together for beaver. They work like a charm and are usually free at your local auto repair shop. You can find the instructions for the drowners @ trapperman.com, in the water trapping archives. The fancy tools are optional. The only tools I used were a hammer and chisel. They came out just fine.

With the price of metal I would save those and find something else. There small and weigh allot.
