Ice Fishing has turned on and nice catches of jack perch and lake trout are being made. Inspite of 27 below temps last week there is not that much ice. The bays are good with 6"to 8", but main lake only has 2" to 4". Below zero last night so we continue to make ice. About 6" of snow on the ice with some slush underneath. Some really nice perch are being taken on Hali jigs tipped with Spikes and Lakers to 15 lbs. on Swedish Pimples. Lake is loaded with Lakers.

Thanks Wayne. I never ever drive my truck on the ice, not even to park it.

I usd to always drive my truck on the ice while I was in North Dakota...I'd certainly think twice about most lakes here however.

Fished yesterday. Really tough going, there is a foot of snow on the ice and wading through that pulling a portable shanty is pretty miserable. The perch had lockjaw too!

Fish turned back on this morning. A foot of snow on the ice with slush underneath. Miserable walking, but the fish are biting. Lots of Lake Trout being caught.
