Was wondering if u can still cut the cartiladge off at the skull for the ears when skinning or does it severly hurt pelt price. Problem is tried skinning ears on coyote today with screwdriver per recommendations in pelt handling manual, didn't work to well ears tore and look like junk.

yes you can just cut the ears off close to the head, most trappers do it that way. That method to remove the cartilidge works great on fox, but is very tough on 'yotes

I don't use the screw driver method , I apply a goodly amount of borax and work the ear inside out to the tips then trim them off .
