lam new to trapping and being so caught up in what to buy and not to buy i forgot to get dry dirt what would be a solution to this problem do cover hulls work ?

You can alos buy peat moss from Lowes or Home Depot

I would just go with theh peat moss, you can buy a big bale for about $6 at Lowe's in Herkimer

i dont mean to be to annoying asking questions but how do i use the peat moss do i shred it up and sift it around like dirt?

Peat moss is basically dirt. You can sift it but depending on the bag you get, you may not even have to do that.

I been using peat moss for awhile. You will want to sift a light covering of dirt from the trap bed over the top of it, as it can blow away in a light breeze. Other than that, it works well. I buy mine the year before and let it dry out before having to use it.

Same thing with the buckwheat hulls as they are very light and subject to moving with gusty winds. A heavy rain will also pack down the hulls a bit and maybe end up showing some of the trap. A new dusting of hulls and light cover will take care of that.
