This week was a rough one , managed 2 reds, and lost a yote. With snow and fridged temp it was hard to keep my traps thawed, this next week should be better. Also bought some new lure from Nihgt Owl, Crossbones and RollingThunder , rebaited sets with them this morning. Hope you like the pics. Dan

Yes the same set ,the first one was thursday and the second one was today. The one today had mange starting, on his heels and the tail. I called a friend and he said to lop off the tail, skin him fast and freeze the pelt for a week. Dont know!!! The pelt was fine as far as I could tell. This is the second one this year with mange, the first one had lost 25% of his fur, sutch a sad way to die!!

The reason you want to freeze the pelt is to kill the mange. It can't live in extremely cold temps. You have to be carefull with mange I know of a trapper that got the mange. It ruined his deer season....Dave

nice pic on the reds. I wouldn't skin a grinner without gloves on or anything else for that matter. I also know of a guy that got mange and it was no picnic for him. ever since then, i would not touch fur without gloves on. slik1
