Nice catch! I have been told that the DEC has relocated some down this way, what do their tracks look like, a cat or more like a coon? Thanks, Dan.

No relocation, they are just moving across the state. The PA game commission did some relocation efforts across the northern tier and some of those may have expanded as well. The tracks are more fox/cat like than 'coon, their feet are quite large for there size and their claws are razor sharp, Very cool animals, I didn't get any this year, but they are one of my favorites to trap.

from the size id guess that to be a male fisher. heck of a set of choppers in the first pic too ;D what kind of bait/lure are you using? last year i chased them for a week. used fresh meat and pure skunk melted down w/vasoline: no luck. this year at the beginning of the week i used the same combo on my leaning poles. i put 2 more in mid-week close to camp & changed to meat and a dab of 'gusto' instead of the skunk. the next morning i walked out to see my first fisher. the coni and wreath(i call it a wreath cause i do my 220's up with pine boughs) were down and a fresh snow had fallen on whatever had climbed up that pole. i kept telling myself as i approached that it might be a grey or a coon but a quick brush off comfirmed i had indeed taken my first fisher. a small female but i was simply overjoyed. so much so i never investigated to see where she came from or if she circled for a bit.....the important part was she was coming home with me c'mon, tell me u didnt do this to your first fisher ;D heading back up for a final crack at them next weekend. see ya'll at mannsville
