This is my rookie year for trapping. Our season opened Dec 17th and couldn’t get out until January 4th. This is my 1st beaver January 5th……..47” long---34” girth---50.4 pounds. It went straight to the taxidermist. What is scaring the heck out of me is, “Beginners Luck”. Today the 8th I got a 36 ponder and from what I have found that is average and more like what I should get used to. No one traps this area. It’s virgin territory and there has to be a mate to this brute. I had to lug this thing 275 yards and as you can see I’m no spring chicken. Thanks NYSTA for a good web site and a place to boost. i30.photobucket.com/albums/c303/jtcparks/97cb07c8.jpg

Nice tug you got there, I know the feeling there about lugging them out. Most of the flows I trap are between a 1 1/2 -2 mile hike in and then back out. Thanks for the kind words about the site, but it isn't affilaited with the NYSTA at all. The New York State Trappers Association doesn't have a website.
