There's a few there Scott or at least a bluish tinge. I do a lot of scouting but not necessarily pre-season work. I have developed a lot of private permission and have trapped some of the locations for over 15 years, I intimately know how the coon move through these properties. 3-8 sets, with a variety of baits and lures, usually cover a travel zone between denning and feeding. As a for instance, and I'm not exaggerating, I have one wide creek with permission on both sides that is surrounded by heavy timber. I have 6-8 sets each side of the creek (two different properties with permission). This one general location (the creek) accounted for 32 coons of the 125 I've caught so far. Man I wish I had a 100 of these locations. LOL.

25.6% of you total take from one spot is one heck of a great spot. that would be great to have a couple more spots like that. we all would love to have that happen ay! LOL

jdpaint most of my sets are cage traps or little griz. I tried using some of the the "new regulation" modified buckets but didn't have much success. My preferred method would be to set conibear trail sets but I have had to switch up methods with the new regs. Early to mid-season bait is marshmallows and Treeberry or Corn Dog paste bait by Alan Huot and Stef Forget's Pro Coon or Night Owl's Cold Roller. Mid-season on I mix in Blackie's Blend Fatal Attraction (shellfish bait) and Boar's Delight gland lure.

Good job Arrow.
Nice put-up too......you'll do well up there.
Been spending some time in the shed the last couple days, and I really miss my coons.........regret not trapping some this year. And not just 'cause the prices sound real good on 'em.........but because I like the greasy little dudes.
Rick.
