Im new to this site .just wondering if it is possibe to over scrape coyotes when putting them up .do iscrape off just the heavyest of fat and meat ?or strip it as clean as possible from head to tail

You should take off all the fat and flesh on K-9's. Coyotes seem to have a lot more than fox but you don't want to expose the hair roots when fleshing either.

thank you for replying greatly appreciated. I did flesh one down to the hairroots .was not impressed with the way it was looking figured I better check whith someone before I went any farther.hope I did not ruin it.

if it was caught early you may not be able to avoid it.

as an animal primes, the leather gets thicker. Early furs are hard to flesh without exposing roots. It will be less of a problem as they prime up.
