Other than putting it on wood (personal preference), nothing except maybe the window on the belly just a little bigger. Looks good Ed

Hard to tell from the pic Ed, so forgive me if I'm wrong. She looks too wide. You're looking for 32" in length. No more than 8" wide. If you need to go to 7 1/2" wide to get the 32" length...no problem. I've seen alot of coons come up short of 32" because they were 9 or 10 inches wide.
Rick.

Looks good Ed. On a wire stretcher it will be very hard for you to get the fur to be no more than 8" wide. Dont over stretch the fur just to get more length. You will thin out your back fur and lose money. To make the fur look a little neater, I use rubber bands tristed around the front legs. When dry you cut them off flat to the belly leaving only a small 1/4" hole where the legs use to be.

I put all mine on wire. I've never sold one that was more than 8" wide...and I've sold alot of 'em.

Hello, Thank you all for your comments. This is really interesting. The pelt in question is exactly 32 inches in length and 8 1/2 inches at the widest point. Will try and get it under 8. Thanks again. Ed

After reading this tread I went out this morning and measured the base of some of my large coon and there is just no way that you can pull them hard enough to get them so they are not over 8 inches wide and still have the hide tight down buy the base of the hide.

Wayne,I cant see where it would make a differance if they were on wood or wire, they seem to be just to big to be streched that narrow, explain how it would make a difference if they were on wood rather than wire.

I have 3 different sizes of NAFA dimension 'coon stretchers I use depending on the size of the critter. I also make sure that if there is any slack that it's on the back not the belly side, seems to make them look fuller.
