On the same lines as the ears thread, what does everyone do with K-9 front legs? I tuck mine inside when I turn them

Hi to you all, glad I found this site, here is something that can be a big help with puttin up fur and a big help for newbies just startin out: google fur harvesters auction, now click on trappers and ranchers, now scroll down to pelt handling information, this will give you everything you need to know about pelt handling, and the way the auction wants them, I've trapped since I was in the 2nd grade and now im 43 thier was alot I learned that makes it easier on them so you can get the most out of your pelts. And new guys stick with it and your traps will start to be fuller, along with your memories, and happy holidays. HOOTEE

I have some heavy card board pieces that i run down the legs and pin w/ push pins sticking up in the air so they dry well underneath . i leave mine out because they can catch or rip the fur in the shoulder area . haven't had any complaints yet!

In the past I've seen some pretty coats all made from the black stockings on a red fox , with the info I've been reading about the chinese they will use every bit of fur.

I tuck all case fur legs inside .I use bent u shaped coathangers to keep the legs open and a fan on low to circulate the air to prevent fur slipage. On mink and other small animals I use popsicle sticks. I have never had any problems or complants.!!!FRENCHIE

I use a piece of rolled up newspaper about 6 inches long and a 1/2 inch in diameter. When I am initially drying my K-9's skin side out, I push the newspaper rolls inthe the front legs and prop them up so the underside dries. When I turn the hide, I remove the rolls and cut the leg off, leaving about an inch of leg. I tried cutting the legs off when the pelt was moist, but the leg holes looked to big to me.
