Spikehorn, Are you willing to share any general hotspots for Smallmouths on Oneida Lake? Most likely I'd be comin' out of the Sylvan Beach area.
Anyone else familiar with good Bass spots on Oneida Lake?

To be honest I have never fished open water on the east end of the lake. I fish the Constantia area where I have my boat at a family members house. But my tips are fish drop offs, weed lines and my favorite rockpiles. I always hang a crayfish over the boat or bobber one in the shallows. Smallies love crabs.
Good luck

Oneida Lake smallmouths...look for the rocks, where the weedbeds meet the rock piles. Shallower the better this time of year, look for where the wind blows the bait up on a shoal or shore. They go on a feeding frenzy at times. Last year we caught 50+ off 2 points and a shoal. Some were in the 4+ range. Later they may be in 15-20 ft. Don't forget the largemouths...there are some 6+ pounders out there. Shallow bays , sunglasses and you can see them laying on the bottom. Not to mention the Walleyes.

Can't wait to try! Hope the waves aren't nasty! Tommorow probably not a great day to go out...Especially if the Boat Police are so strict with their enforcement.
