After 6 years I got one!!! I got set up at 5:00 am this morning an right off the bat I was hearing gobblers. At 5:15 I started calling and had a bird off to my right, left and behind me. Slowly two of the birds dropped off but the one behind me kept gobbling. Unfortunitly he never came in. At 6:30 I saw movement while calling but it turned out to be a fisher. At 7:00 I saw some movement across the field about 150 yard out. I stood up to see what it was and all I saw was two bright red heads. I slowly sat back down and started calling. After what seemed forever I decided to stand up (I have no patience) and there they were standing just on the other side of the little hill. The first tom saw me and ran off like a bat out of hell. I quickly raised up on the other and took a shot. I fired and the Jake fell right over. It was like tunnel vision. I don't remember aiming or taking off the safty but I got my bird. I get the same tunnel vision when I take deer with my bow also. My first bird was a jake with a 1 inch beard and small bump spurs. Sorry for the long story here's the pics. The sun was in my eyes in just about every pic,lol
