ok quick question. a deer was shot today that had some real old wounds(last year?) and two newer wounds (this year). plus the killing shot today. the old wounds look like maybe gang green?? don't smell putred though. but my question is if two quarters are bad does that make the whole deer unfit??? still waiting on gameworden. do they work on thanksgiving??will the deer spoil in this temp if left to hang??(it is skinned) was prety warm today and will be warm tomarrow too.

Not totally positive if it makes the whole deer unfit to eat but I wouldn't want to eat it, espicially if it was both hindquarters. Gangrene is a bacterial infection that could spread to the entire body and that's something that I wouldn't want to eat. The deer shouldn't spoil in this type weather, as long as the core body temperature remains below 40 degrees you can safely cure it a week or so with the skin on. You won't be able to hang it as long since it has been skinned however. The ECO's work 24/7 but they can decide whether or not the case demands their immediate attention or if it can wait until tomorrow.
