This coming Saturday there will be a NYSTA BOD meeting. All you guys that have been beefing about one thing or another should attend. It's one thing to hide behind a computer screen and another to beef face to face. This old boy will not be there, this Covid thing, I kinda like livin a bit longer.

It's not beefing when membership is kept in the dark for years, and must resort to extraordinary measures to get the NYSTA leadership's attention. As far as hiding behind a computer screen goes, I have not typed one word online that I would not speak right to the faces of the people who have hijacked our trapper's association for their own personal interests. It would be helpful, AL, to let the membership know where this B.O.D. meeting is being held, and at what time, so those who might consider attending have an idea of where & when. Saturday is the opening day of Northern Tier muzzle-loading deer season, so my guess is painted paw is going deer hunting, and is using Covid-19 as a reason for not attending the meeting walleyed

I assume that the meeting will be held at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds on Saturday October 17 at 9AM. I did receive a notice of the meeting, however the President has not replied to my questions. All NYSTA members are always welcome to attend. As for me, I'm in the Covid high risk category and don't want to sit all day in a room full of old farts from all over the state. I take the risk very seriously, more so than some of my friends. I doubt that I'll join the hunting gang this year because of the threat, probably only hunt with my son, and grandson in those Pennsylvania mountains. Painted Paw does not hunt with a muzzleloader or bow, nor do I hunt deer any longer in the northern zone. I can't trap and hunt at the same time. My intention, this Saturday, is to start prebaiting my fisher line. I did note on the meeting agenda that there is no DEC scheduled. For the record, I'm just as upset with the loss of fisher trapping time and the season dates in the Adirondacks as you are in losing that week of rat season. Stay well.

It really would be a simple task to advise of a zoom or teams meeting and have remote people attend the meeting. The organizer can mute all and ask for show of hands during votes. Seeing as how the have our email addresses, set up a group email, send the invite and then no one that wants to attend has an excuse.

AL, Likewise I am in a high risk category for Covid-19 with a half dozen associated co-morbidities on my scorecard. It's very commendable that NYSTA leadership sees fit to allow rank & file membership to attend our own governing body to obtain information on how the organization is being run. So glad that we are "welcomed" to attend. LOL walleyed

I would show mine on a zoom meeting, but being 4 to 4-1/2 hours away means I have to leave at 4:30 am at the latest or have to stay in a hotel over Friday night. Neither is particularly attractive.
