I bought some #3 bridgers at the nysta sat. After a little review, i'm a new trapper, I believe even thou they are inside and outside laminated they are illegal. What's your take on the rule, "You need to measure the inside distance between the outer frames of the trap. The addition of one or more bars to the inside of the frame does not change the way these traps are measured. The measurement is still the maximum distance as shown in this picture." www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/9207.html

The addition of one or more bars to the inside of the frame does not change the way these traps are measured. The measurement is still the maximum distance as shown in this picture." That is not the "rule" for leg hold traps, it's the "rule" for body-gripping traps. That page is a little misleading. See PAGE 59 OF THIS LINK, which states: How to measure a foothold trap:Measure the inside distance between the jaws excluding the gripping surface as shown. If the jaws have inside laminations, the measurement is the inside distance between the laminations. If the trap has double jaws, measure the inside distance between the outer jaws. Good luck.
