Got a 110 lbs mostly red bone. I buy the over the counter ear rinse and it usually helps in a cuple days and he will be good for a while. Wondering if there's any other way you guys clean these long ears. He's not a user friendly dog when it comes to this. I've heard off people putting yogurt in there ears, for the yeast, I've also heard using whiskey but seems like that would burn an possably not help his bad attitude when it comes to handling his soar ear. His gaurd goes up as soon as he sees that bottle of rinse.

I always use that rinse, my dogs over the years have all hated seeing that bottle as well but seemed to like the massaging into the ear you do after squirting it in. Knowing they get a treat right after helps as well.
I have a lab right now that will let you do anything except trim his toenails, that is one thing he won't tolerate at all. He gets a muzzle put on when I have to do that. Use one if you have to.

Ditto; and, the whiskey suggestion is for giving it to the dog to drink BEFORE he sees the rinse bottle lol! MUCH more mellow after that!

Thanks guys, I defiantly use a muzzle he's great around kids and my better half and normally myself. When it comes to madacine or toenails Thoe it's an experience I can't be leave the names he calls me, on another note Somone els suggested the monistat thing. I don't see why if it would hurt him giving what it's normally used for.
