Im looking to getting into trapping this year. Hopefully I can find an instructor to give me a class (harder then it sounds by me).
Im looking to basically only trap raccoon and coyotes to help my deer and turkey on my property. Im looking to skin, flesh and salt my own skins but would like to know where to send them all at the end of the season to get them tanned. Once I have enough would like to make throw blankets and things like that for around the house.

Local tanner by me and all taxidermist I plan on skinning all I catch with a slit straight down the belly and out to each limb. I have read on a few tannery sites that they can tan skins that have been dried or salted. I plan on salting all my fur and have it all tanned at the end of the hunting/trapping season. Not selling fur mostly wall hangers, cloths, blankets.

Leo does great work for a reasonable price. Also usually a pretty quick turnaround.

X2 for Leo at Z&L! You will not be disappointed! Leo does a great job, the only thing you have to tell him upon getting the price is your purpose for. It is important because Leo does tannery that is not gonna suite your dream to install skin over a carcass and to insert a skull. He does not paws at all and faces (a nose, eyes holes , ears, lover jaws ) remains very undeveloped and have to be cut off . So his great tanning job is applicable to such trappers that want to sew something like a Queen bed cover, some sort of cloth , hats, gloves....... but not standing up animal .
