well i was thinking of making some mink boxes, some really good videos out on how to make them. BUT, my question is WOULD IT BE BETTER TO PAINT OR STAIN THEM? most videos show people painting them. my thinking is if i stain them you could get more of a real wood look to them. any input would be appreciated.

My luck with mink box's is that it is best to use them for firewood so I wouldn't do any sort of finish to them.

I toss my wood cubbies in the trap dye pot after I'm done with traps. How dark they get depends how long you let them soak. Need to roll them around a bit to get all sides covered but they blend in real well.

That's what I do with my coon cubbies Toplot , but I just give my boys 4" paint brushes and have them go to town on them.
