I currently have some Duke DP's laying in the yard rusting. Do y'all dye them with black walnuts and all or do you do something else so they keep a metallic color for attraction? Thank you in advance!

It makes no difference, Use them new and dye and wax after they rust, coon don't care about the color.

using walnut hulls to dye any steel with makes it highly attractive to all squirrels. If not waxing, suggest using sumac berries instead. They smell much nicer than walnut hulls, too

i take them and put them in old fryer oil keep them nice and has a good smell no need to rust

I dye none of my dp's half are painted white and half are painted black repaint about every other year depending on there condition
