I run duckbills mainly carry 4 drivers , thinking about going to wolffangs, problem with them is driver, all earth anchors have different problems, I like the 8 inches of cable and 8 inches of chain my preference, as dont have loop sticking up in the air, I need to buy 6 mor dozen anchors , and its a hard decision , I like the superstakes but the hed is big and takes more effort to drive in ground, when running up to 150 traps and setting in 1 day takes a lot out of the arms, the duckbills I like , run a 1/2 rod in ground pull and dive duckbill in, berkshire hd 3 inch ones I like for super soft loom they bite in good and more surface area to catch. All I can say Is play with some see what you like buy what you like nd can afford, this year with money tight it will be 100 wolf fangs and a good driver.

I run superstakes with good luck I used to sell more superstake drivers than wolf fang The last few years ...I sell more wolf fang drivers wolf fangs are much more affordable and seem to hold up well Have continued to refine my drivers over the years trap line feedback shows me the weak points and I make changes messing with different materials now....stainless, 4140 tool steel, etc trying to find the best combo but keep it affordable with blunt force impacts....nothing lasts forever

Red , are you trying to connect the chain to the anchor . If so why can't you use S hooks? If your worried about them separating , weld them if you have a welder or if you know someone.

Red, I'm guessing you have some imported chain with the long links? Try some #2 American...better yet some #3 American...

Down to the crunch I have done nothing to get ready I have a bag of peat in the shed I got last year so im good on that but still need to do trap prep I think I am going to run a small line for fun my in-laws told me there drive way is caving in for the second Time now its wood chucks so I pulled out some traps today to get them so they can get it done again I will be boiling soon in the works and as for the earth anchors I an using the Japan #2 chain and cable last uear I was running the hd Berkshire with 19in cable and I pull most by hand a little ruff on the back so I use a pick axe now but dont know how to run this set up maybe 5 links and 10 of cable

Is #3 straight link select quality chain good to make my wolf fangs if so f&t has it on sale this month for 52.95+12.95 or should I go with the #2 and is this the good USA chain with the smaller links not the long links like 9wire stated before
