Red, Thanks to you as well. You have been an active member of this forum and always willing to share what you have learned in the relatively short trapping career. I too have been very surprised to find a site like this, where trappers are willing to share their "secrets". The wealth of knowledge shared freely here never fails to amaze me. Locally, every trapper I have run into, sees other trappers as competition, and never would share any of what they might know that will help a fellow trapper connect with a critter that has been eluding them. All the good folks on this site are the exact opposite, however. If I have a question, and ask it on here, someone generally has an answer for me. Ideas flow freely here and people here are always more than willing to help!
Thanks everyone!

The members on this site are top notch. There is a site that deals with outdoor sports in North Dakota that I won't even visit any more because the members are so nasty. It is nice to feel free to ask a question and not be worried about someone calling you a dumb a**. Thanks for all the help and keep up the good work.

Red - you’re probably the most down to earth person on the site, never afraid to show your true self. You have worked hard to get into this sport and like you said, you have come a long ways in a short period of time. You have passion for it and that has shortened your learning curve. And you take advice well. You’ll do well in this.
Sorry for your losses over the past few weeks – wish you the best of luck this trapping season.

Well, brother, it is perhaps the most "odd" undertaking of all, this trapping "thing," isn't it? But in a good way. I mean, people working in the same profession or discipline can and frequently do work together. Hunters and fishermen can hunt and fish together, all that sort of thing, but how many trappers actually trap together for pleasure or profit? Yes I know there are times that it happens but it isn't often at all, and it's usually a matter of mentoring. So how do we forge these - unusually? - strong relationships? Used to be Rendezvous, still is to a point but it's conventions, fairs, fur sales, and this sort of forum nowadays. I can guarantee I'd never have met you or any others on here in person if it weren't for this forum. Sure, I might have still gone to "SOMEthing," but it would've been very local and even though Herkimer is "very local" I wouldn't have known any of you prior to being there and on the odd chance introducing myself. In fact, as you know, if it weren't for recognizing your wooden mug (not you face, duh! ), I wouldn't have met you at Herkimer this year. Same with going to the Flatiron fur sale last spring. Anyways, I know what you're going through. You and yours are in our prayers; keep the Faith, brother. Imagine the reunion you're gonna have one day! - Tim

A tumbler is next.
