Fisher used to be thought of as a deep forest critter but the past 10-15 years, more and more are showing up in farmland and even suburban settings as they have started to displace the raccoon in many areas. Any areas that hold 'coon & K9's will also support fisher if they are present and you'll see their tracks in the mud just like other critters. Stone walls are great hunting and travel lanes as well as logging roads and areas where 2 different habitats converge (i.e. fields to hardwoods, crops to brushy areas, etc.) If you've caught 'coon & 'yotes in the past you're on track....you can't catch what isn'tthere so keep plugging away or change locations.

Just this morning in the fluff of snow we got I found a bunch of fisher track in a pine stand that splits a field from a clear cut area so I put up my first lean pole set we shall see how it goes
