Last year I cought 2 fisher in coon sets now this year I want to target them since I know they are there. Just wondering what are some successful sets for them?

I find an old rotted stump, the more rotten the better. Right where the stump meets the ground I dig a 3-4" diameter hole at a 45 degree angle into the stump. Bed the trap tight to the hole and put my secret bait recipe in the hole. It takes a good number of fox as well as coon and even an occassional mink but it's my "go to" fisher set. Unfourtunatly, only a very small portion of my line is in a fisher season zone. Best of luck!

I use a running poke with a 220 add my go to and I catch a lot of them. I also have success with burying a beaver carcass under a rotten stump and bedding a 1.5 in front. As for lure I use a real skunky lure which I get from grimshaws supply or adirondack outdoor company. For my pole I like a pole that is between the width of a softball and basketball depending on what's there. Make sure they have a clear path to your bait. I make them at a 45-60 degree angle. I place my bait 4" above my trap and that gives me a solid catch at the base of the skull every time. Ill post a picture in a bit for you.

Thanks stewa107 do u hide ur 220 with branches? Or right out on the open? I have some real skunky good night owl lure what do u use for ur bait? I have venison scraps already as I have been lucky with my bow? I was going to use chunks of the liver untill I get a beaver for meat? I have about 35 220's I was going to hit them hard this year

yes, I try to break up the outline of the 220. In all honesty, if I dont have beaver, I go to the butcher and get the beef scraps and large chunks of fat. they hold up well in the heavy freeze with a smell. I have caught ermine, Martin, and weasel with larfe chunks of beef fat on the pole. like I said I put my 220 about 4 INCHES away from the bait. that gives just enough room for the jaws to close. Ive caught 2 weasel like that because tgey are stopped and eating right in the middle of the trap. one weasel I had to cut some of the bait away because its mouth was around the bait.
