just curious what you guys think about this mixture and if it would work or what not.
i thought about it last year but never tried it, was goin to use some venison scraps/fat, mix in a little porcine or ruminate blood (dried) just enough to cover scraps and maybe some bacon grease, enough to soak in and leave a smell. let it "age" in a container awhile and try it at some dirt holes?
do you think it would work for canines? or be to "rotten smelling"
just lookin for opinions

Skip the blood. In my experiance, blood will make a K9 roll in a set. Age the venison until tainted, not rotten, then add your bacon grease and some sodium benzoate to stop the aging process and your good to go. Some antifreeze would be good too.

Dear Friend, A suggestion; take some of your dried blood and grind it to a powder and add a couple 4 or 5 tablespoons to a pint of fish oil and age it for a couple months in a warm place. Shake it up once and a while during the aging process. After it is done aging mix it into your meat.......also I would recommend leaving out the deer fat as it doesn't preserve well and will turn rancid and sour your bait...........another idea for your bacon grease would be to add some beaver sac oil (4ounces sac oil to a pint of bacon grease)......it really makes them dig for it. Regards
