I took a walk today and visited 3 old set I had pulled a Xmas time. 2 of the sets were worked over . I caught fox at all locations . Question is how long do you think the scent stays at the location and am I able to re set and be effective.

I have seen sets that I pulled in Jan still being worked by yotes and fox at the end of rat season in April.I always go back and make K9 sets at old fisher set locations and take K9s and fisher both in them something keeps them coming back a year later.

When testing lures I have seen holes dug many months after the "test" was finished.Of course in some cases there was probably a time frame of months between activity.I tend to think that if a hole sits for a long length of time and suddenly gets dug at again it could be for reasons other than the residue of lure.Maybe a mouse or some other small animal started using the hole and the digging is a result of a predator hunting, maybe an animal passes by and recalls finding something interesting there before? There are a lot of variables involved that we might not think about...
