Nice buck Zane. I'm guessing right around a buck thirty two. Now go get him scored so I know how far off I am.

congratulations!!!!!!!! great buck!!!!!!! i too am pro-antler restrictions and wish New York would adopt more wide spread restrictions as well......cant argue the results!!!!!! amazes me sometimes to talk with folks who preach "stewards of the land" yet there unwritten rule when in the deer woods is "brown is down"

There are still those of us out there that could care less about how big antlers are or whether or not a deer has them. Trophy comes in the eyes of the beholder.

i too Woj am not a "horn hunter"; (i fill my DMP tags every season and am greatful for each one, and have never killed anything larger than average 8 points in 30 years due in part to a lack of any QDM) point being made is the quality of the experience especially for the younguns/new hunters, advocating the taking of every deer that walks in the woods is just poor management practice (in my opinion)and does not force the "posers" who pick up a gun opening weekend and step into the woods for the first time opening day and start blasting at every brown bodied or white flag they see, results in poor herd numbers and lots of "wounded" deer (potential accidents as they have itchy trigger fingers) due to not having to identify the target as nothing more than brown with 4 legs, theres no quality experience for young/new hunters if the deer herd is decimated and they are not seeing anything, and most public antler restricted areas are nothing more than letting those bucks make it to 2.5 years of age (on average so no, trophies in the form of huge racks is not the over riding result, quality deer herd with numerous encounters is), dont know if you have but if you have ever hunted woods that this has been in practice for a few years, the amount of deer encounters in itself makes it quality, this is just my 2 cents

Deer herd down here is decimated. Just finished up the worst deer season I have ever had. That little three point rule isn't putting any more deer in the woods. I don't care how you try to spin it. Still an awesome deer Zane. Congrats again.

Actually I have hunted woods that practiced management. The location was in the old 5N wildlife management unit. over 500 acres and the guys decided to not shoot anything that was less than 6 points. The first three years, no buck was shot on the property. The spikecorn ratio is now thru the roof. After several years, most of the guys that wanted this don't hunt there anymore. My Dad still does. He hasn't seen a buck bigger than a spikecorn in 5 years and has consistently seen less and less deer. Just my 2 cents as well. . .

500 acres does not constitute a QDMP if its not practiced on bordering property however as this subject is starting to overide this young mans great success i will end my input here
