One of the yotes i got last year was with a fully moded 1.65. Held well. Nice pad catch. I didn't use any inline springs on my setup either, just a short chain. Then again Im a 47 year old rookie at trapping, with 3 seasons under my belt. I think I will put better springs on the half dozen I have . I think they are a little slow. I have them and a dozen # 2 fully moded bridgers only a couple years old, just dont know about the stock springs. Im trying to change my inventory to all KB's though, have a few dozen.. But I dont really have to worry about theft. Dave.

if there modified i wouldnt think twice about useing them, they are a real stout trap and ive caught yotes with them, that said i do prefer the mod#2 bridgers as my go to yote trap

I use them and they will hold a yote no problem. Four coiled and modified they are one strong trap.

Some guys say that a yote won't fight the trap as hard if its a smaller trap

I think that if you have to ask, is it good enough, chances are it may not be. If I was targeting cats I'd go with what gave me confidence.

Cats dont fight a trap hard.......until they see you coming, but I would go with the largest legal jawspread with a large pan. Why question whether its big enough. After a year or two of using them you'll just want to buy bigger traps anyways. Dont have much coyote experiance but those will more than hold a big cat if you got a solid hold in the jaws. Thats where I like a bigger trap, but everyone catches critters and has their own personal preferences. Thats the beauty of sharing info and ideas on a forum like this.
