Figured I would share my website with you guys, www.johnsondecoys.com this is what I do in the summer besides fish and scout trapping locations, then when duck season roles around my father and I hunt ducks and geese when we can, although its hard because the trapping season starts during the peak of the waterfowling seasons. WE can usually get hunts in on weekends and some weekday mornings. Anyhow hope you guys like looking at it.

That was a talent my father had, there were several bushel baskets of hand made decoys in the loft , within a few weeks of my fathers passing someone came by the house and bought all the decoy's save for one mom saved for me. He also bought most all the antique fishing stuff dad had . To bad I didn't have an interest as a kid to carve and fish for trout. I'm trying to learn trolling now, it has taken 2 years to get what could have been learned in one morning on the boat with dad. You young guy pay attention and pass this stuff along.

Thanks everyone and If I see that decoy I will let you know, hey at least your learning to troll. I had to teach my self to carve, although the last three years or so I have gotten some good advice from people. I taught my self through experimentation and research how to trap. I met phil clark and he has given me some good trapping advice and saved me from the beatings of fleshing beams and showed me how to clean skin. Thankfully my dad helps me pursue this stuff, he introduced me to phil clark. I remember my first drowning set was a sliding pole set out of popular that I got out of a trapping book from the 1800's, I caught my first minks in the winter time in tunnels. then I discovered the internet opportunities on trapping like trapper man.com and other websites. I still laugh at my self about the drowning pole out of poplar. THank goodness, for the internet and cable drowners! THat decoy of your great-grandfathers is pretty neat, you are lucky to have that heritage. If you guys look for the june spanish trappers magazine I wrote an article on winter mink trapping, it should be out soon. I have another article in fur fish game that came out in the fall, the one with the youth duck hunter on it. MY names cody johnson buy the way. SOme of you might know my father dennis johnson Jr. His dad, my grandfather owned the kuyahuora outdoor center. MY dad use to work on phil clarks tundra.
