Spent the weekend at the Family cottage in Canada. We are about 30 miles north of Sydenham, on the northwest side of Kingston. There is a family that lives there year round, and they were telling of problems last winter with wolves coming from Frontenac Provincial Park, crossing the ice and harassing pets, even killing one small dog as the owner watched. The resident said they killed 16 wolves that were crossing the frozen lake. Are there wolves in that part of Canada?

I'm sure that there very well could be wolves near the Kingston Ontario area, but I'm more inclined to think they are coyotes as I couldn't find anything other than incidental sightings of lone "big" wolf like aninmals in dozens of different articles/posts on the internet.

Algonquin National Provincial Park is 1 1/2 times the size of Delaware and is located probably about a 300 Klicks northwest of Kingston, Ontario, I think and is LOADED with Northern Grey Wolves.

I can remember Algonquin type wolves in the Rideau Lakes area north of Kingston when I was a kid.
