For those with experience, which of these is more forgiving on a paw when a coyote has an extended stay in a trap (obviously within 24 hours).
I have been happy with the MB's, but I am thinking of trying some others this season. IN the mountains, it can take some time to reach the last sets of the day, which is why I am asking about this.

you will be pleased with the 550's, no damage on fox either.

On a 24 hour check, I'd not be concerned with any of the traps you mention being different, one from the other.
While you are considering the time the animal is in the trap prior to removal later in the day than you'd like, you also have to accept that the time the animal gets caught is just as important.......animals get into traps at 5PM at night, 6AM or even later in the morning, and all hours in between.
You are using quality traps that are animal friendly......I'd not sweat any of them as a choice.

echo what zagman stated, but I'll add that 99% of the coyotes I catch in KB's after 15 monutes of being taken out of the trap you can't tell which paw it was held by

THanks, I knew I get an educated answer here. Itrap, would you say you have seen a difference compared to other traps?

While the other traps certainly don't cause undue foot injury, I can tell more times than not which foot was in the trap when using MB's. I have limited experience with Jakes (only own 2) so I can't make an educated comparison with them.

OK, you finally convinced me. I am ordering some KBs and I'll try them out in the fall

When were talking paw damage we have to specify off set trap or not off set. Off set cause minimal to no paw damage when using the MB 550.
