Hi all, Most of my 110 conis that I used in saltwater last season are rusting up badly.I had dyed a few in log wood, and sprayed a few with Rustolium. I cleaned them all with The Works cleaner And just finished spraying them all being that the ones sprayed seemed to fair a little better. They seem fine now but was wondering if it would hurt using some kind of lube on them the next season ? Maybe vegetable oil or mineral oil. any suggestions would be appreciated.thanks all.

I wouldn't .I dont like dip but where you live I would dip them or paint them with rustolium and wash them as often as possible.(If you really want to go nuts have them sandblasted and powder coated.

Some salt water rat trappers are using stainless steel conibears like the ones sold by Victor

Thanks didn't even know they made them stainless. One season in the salt marsh does a real job on them.I even had a couple 1.5 bridger coils springs buryed in the sand beach side ,Those couple are in bad shape too. to bad Centro is all the way up there or I.d be having them sand blasted.I used the works on my 110's and painted them up . they all are in great working order now. Hopefully I get this next season out of them . I'll be cheking into the stainless ,and might even get them powder coated to boot . Thanks all for your advise.
