If your lookin for a nice coil spring beaver trap you just can't beat an MB750 for the money.

I myself love SC traps.. But I have to agree.. If I am going for the back foot I grab a MB-750... Front foot gets a #4 dbl long. But if I had a SC I would use it for sure.. I do have a 4 1/2 SC kicking around.. That is BIG steel!!

I get paid to trap and take beavers, and have no time for second best equipment, I don't get paid to check empty traps due to trap failures or pull outs. I use Belisle 330 w/K-B Stabilizers or "H" stands. For foothold situations I use Sleepy Creek #4-1/2 or CDRs for the hind foot catch, for the front foot catch I use strictly the K-B Laminated trap that is short chained on a carbon-fiber rod drowner, usually in water too shallow to use the hind foot catch. I have had the 750's silt in or foul easily and not fire thus a catch was missed and no pay. My beaver catch usually averages XL - XXL, and I have never missed or lost a beaver in a front foot K-B set.

I myself prefer the MB 750's. The CDR's are great traps but for what I do the 750's work just fine and are alittle easyer on the wallet.

MB-750's and CDR's have both worked fine for me. I've had very few misses with these traps.
I do have more 750's and therefore use them more. This may be due to the price difference.

the duke #4 is the same design as a #3 bridger. Same frame and springs.

There is about 3 or 4 dollars more in cost for the CDR over the 750. The CDR trap was bought lock, stock, & barrel and brought to Fort Plain, New York and is being manufactured by Kurt Beauregard owner of K-B Mfg. The CDR trap is a serious piece of equipment, and should be used by experienced trappers only, the CDR is also used to trap wolves. Check out the K-B website and see the K-B in action --- a caught bear and the feral hogs. I'll have all of the K-B products at Fenner, to include the bear trap for that trip to Maine or Canada!! Dealers wanting stock up on K-B products, I am now in a position to provide your needs, and can sometimes deliver on my way at or to conventions. You will need to provide me with your business tax number and Resale Certificate. This also includes licensed Nuisance Wildlife Control Operators.

i like the bridger #5s as they have a loose jaw a little easier to set than the mb750s also remember that most of the bigger traps need to be laminated as they are not legal in ny most of the bigger steel are 7 1/2 and need to be inside laminated

The CDR 7.5 trap comes ready to use out of the box, the same as the K-B traps. The CDR has a outside jaw spread of 7.5 inches, and an inner jaw spread of 7.25 inches which is legal in NYS water sets when beaver and otter are open. The CDR comes with the strongest music wire springs ever used, and is the only beaver trap with Paws-I-Trip pan system directly from the manufacturer. Also included is a fuul length base plate with D ring for bottom swiveling, notched wire levers to allow the loose jaw to lie flat everytime, and each trap comes with 6 inches of #3 machine chain and 2 HD swivels. CDR setters make setting the trap very easy and simple, I preset my CDRs prior to leaving my vehicle, carrying them in a pail or packbasket, you can not do that safely with any other foothold trap. Check them out at the Fenner Rondy, I'll have them there .
