Hello. I have had taken new traps and just washed them with hot water and Dawn Dish soap to remove the grease oil. Then used them and boil them in dye soulution next year.

If you really want to boil them, you can use The Works toilet bowl cleaner. When I got some brand new 280's a few years ago when we had a Spring season extension. All I did was wipe off the oil I could and spray painted them flat back. They worked fine.

Like Woj said... The Works.. But I would go to the car wash and hose them off.. Let them air dry for a few days and paint flat black.. Same with the #4s..

I was told to wash them in the dish washer on a regular cycle with dish detergent. Worked for me.

I boil in dishwasher detergent, seems to cut the oil better.
