what kind of gps units do you use or reccomnd i am currently searching any help would be apprieciated

Not knowing what you want to spend , The Delorme series is what I have and reccomend.I have the pn-40 . They have a previous model and currently the pn-60 . You can go to their website or ebay has some. Its very user friendly , it does alot and you don't have to have a Masters degree to use it. I would go anywhere in the Adirondacks with this model(as with most GPS's always have a spare set of batteries). This is just my opinion ,there are many good ones out there. Bob

I currently use one of the higher end garmin. I have one now that allows you to down load an ariel photo of the area you are in. I used it on a canoe trapping trip and mark sets as I went worked great. Also use it a lot coyote hunting and when I am in a new area helps a lot locating trails and fields etc.
A lot depends on what you plan to do with it, if you are just going to navigate around an area one of the cheaper models would probably be fine.

The cheapest Garmin. Getms me where I want to go and back. I still carry a map and compass as well as extra batteries
