Bill Owens response to my letter about the Refuge Bill Dear Mr. Jordan, Thank you for contacting me about H.R. 2657, the Refuge from Cruel Trapping Act. I appreciate that you took the time to share your comments with me. As you know, H.R. 2657 would prohibit the use or possession of body-gripping traps in the National Wildlife Refuge System. You and I agree that we have a responsibility to be good stewards of the environment and the living creatures we share it with, both wild and domestic. Animal abuse is unacceptable, and I support efforts to eliminate the mistreatment of animals. Although H.R. 2657 is currently before the House Natural Resources Committee for consideration, which I do not sit on, please be assured I will keep your comments in mind should this bill come to the House floor for a vote. Again, thank you for contacting me about this important issue. To receive updates on my work in New York and Washington, please visit my website at www.owens.house.gov. Should you have additional comments or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. My door is always open as I believe that we function better as a society when we engage in nonpartisan, civil discourse. Sincerely, Bill Owens Member of Congress -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No virus found in this incoming message. Nope,
I'd say it was clear as mud.
Fence riding non-committal DEMO-CRAT.
Precisely why I wrote him a letter regarding this dead issue.
I'm pretty sure I can't count on him to vote my interests.
Now if a hundred fellow trappers or other Outdoor sportmen from his Congressional district wrote him a note expressing their opinion regarding this issue, and reminded him that they also VOTE, Congressman Bill might be motivated to express a more concise and clear opinion regarding his leanings.
I'm glad I wrote the letter cause now I KNOW how he stands.
What does YOUR ("anybody's") congressmen feel about this and other trapping issues??
Anyone ??

I got the same response from him.I am not sure where he would come down on it if a vote were actually taken.Typical political response, unclear on what his position really is about the topic. You know that was just some intern clicking and pasting responses.LOL

Wishy-wash...true politician there.....
Since this is a dead bill does it really matter? I'm sure you won't get a decent response over a bill that is basically not going anywhere.

I do not believe that the responce is actually from the congressman...I believe that instead it is coming from the same place the poll orginated from....it is BS from the antis...I received a similar responce from my congressman...it was a completely different and wrongly worded statement from that which he gave me directly...when I had lunch with him last fall.

I would think the FBI would want to know if some one is representing themselves as a congressman.
