when the damage is this bad, you know our winged friends had a hand in it. This rat was from a float in a very open area. I think he got back up on the float and then got strafed by the Lakeview WMA Airforce. I say this one may grade damaged. LOL walleyed

I don't watch boards.........I don't own a T.V......and I can't afford to buy any Blues right now. need the money to buy gas to check traps. I put all my Rats on Basswood boards, so I nicely pinned all those OWL Gouges closed. It doesn't make a bit of difference in the price one receives for damaged rats but it sure makes me feel better. MAYBE. Two weeks ago we were seeing up to two different Golden Eagles daily along the Lakeview WMA Beach along with dozens of Bald Eagles. The Eastern Edge of Lake Ontario is a major Flyway for Raptors Headed for Canada. Broadwings and Redtails (Hawks) are coming thru in Large Numbers right now

It must have been full after eating that beaver, all it left were a couple feet.Good thing,it might have ate the whole rat otherwise.LOL
What makes you think it was an eagle?Rats will tear the heck out of other rats in traps this time of year, especially if they are alive when they run across them. Not saying it can't be from an eagle but it could easily be from other rats...

Actually, I thought it was a OWL !! It didn't look like ARCH-TYPICAL rat bites. You know the kind, they just have a certain look. Also, I have seen quite a few of the same talon- tears and rips in the fall when rats are typically not tearing each other up so bad. Could have been rat bites, but I don't usually see these types and severity of bite marks from rats. I was not witness to the attack, and just making an educated guess. walleyed
