Next time you think someone has made off with one of your conis set for rats.Stop and think if it was secured properly because I have seen several instances of a mink getting caought in conis that were not secured for the toughest thing that could possibly stumble it it."ONE OF THE FIRST RULES OF TRAPPING" and of course they were found some distance away with a mink in them.I have seen them as much as 40 feet from set.

my first mink stole my #110 because I didnt expect a powerful little animal could break it loose. It took some time with a metal detector and I found it deep in a bank den. That was a $45.00 male mink I almost lost.

I had that happen this year with a 280 on a crossover. I had both sides set. I thought it was odd that one trap was gone but the other wasn't. I just wrote it off cause I have lost traps there before. About a week or so later caught a big beaver in the set that was left as I was pulling the one set in it caught the cable of the other set. Two big beaver to haul up the back.It is a good thing to check around a little bit..You never know..

Every time I see a post where someone claims they had one rat set ripped off I can't help wondering if this is not the case. When conis first came out this happened to me because I had noticed that rats never seemed to go anywhere in them .It wasn't long before I got sent back to the school of hard knocks for another lesson.

Thought i lost a 220. I looked and looked and found nothing. Two days later saw a tail sticking up out of the mud, grabbed it and pulled up a nice rat and my 220...about ten feet from where the stand was, couldn't believe the rat carried it that far. I now wire all of my traps.
