Sunday Lakeview Marsh opened in it's entirety and then it froze back up on Sunday Night. Monday night's temperature dipped to about 5 degrees and every trap this morning was frozen solid. The snow geese were lounging on Frozen Lakeview pond this morning about 30,000 strong. Trap checking was an exercise in futility but a daily nescessity. A light skiff of snow proved our traps are on Target but also, inoperable. Minky tracks approaching the Frozen #160 and hopscotching over it. LOL Looking at this photo just now, I noticed one more reason this #160 is inoperable....The safety hook is engaged- LOL Otter tracks heading over the crossover trail straight for the #330 DUKE laying in ambush at the bottom. Otter tracks skidding to a stop to smell the castor above the #330 Duke and then vaulting over, and/or ducking through the FROZEN jaws. Temperatures for Wensday are forecast for HIGHS in the 40's and 50's for the remainder of the week. Perhaps the Steel will be unfrozen and ready when Minky and Otter come back through. LOL Thanks for looking. walleyed

Is it me or is the safety latch locked on the 160?? Like the pics! Yup, and I seem to do that all the time. It's called leaving some seed. LOL Noticed that after I posted the pics so I edited it to laugh at my self, so even without the ice the mink would have gotten a scare but a free pass. I'll fix that tomorrow morning. walleyed
