It seems a lot of trappers don't like possums and while I haven't land trapped yet I've only seen one this year and I can't remember seeing any before. Is this because it gets too cold during the winter? Have I just missed seeing them? How many possums do you guys have? Thanks,David

The farther North you go you will see less and less 'possums due to the cold. I do belive that it's only a matter of time before they even make there way into the 'Dacks though. I've caught them before with stubby tails and cropped ears from the cold, doesn't seem to effect them any though.

Never see them while hunting or fishing around here, but sure do see a lot of them while checking traps, glad of it too, dont bring much money, but they do a number on turkey, grouse, and duck eggs, along with baby rabbits. All things i like to hunt so Im glad to take several out a year.

Opossum poulations are relatively high in my area of Western New York State in the Lake Ontario corridor. I caught three in my garden 25 ft from the house.
